INTRO TO FIRST LEGO LEAGUE

Overview

Ages: Rising 6th-8th graders
Dates: August 12-16

This program will teach the basics of building and coding an FLL robot and will run from 9am-4pm. We will use Spike, a Scratch-based programming language, to control our FLL robots. Each kid will be assigned one of Waring’s FLL robot kits and computers for a one-to-one robot to attendee ratio in order to maximize learning and enjoyment. We will complete missions from the 2024-2025 season if the game has been released in time for the program. If not, we will work from games from previous years. We will focus on teaching the skills needed to start, or join, an FLL team. Space is limited and fills quickly.

Taught by: Wolfpack Machina, formerly The Brickwolves

Wolfpack has been one of the best FTC teams in MA for the last three years. Wolfpack Machina, won the top prize (the Inspire Award) at the First Tech Challenge World Championships on April 22nd, 2023 in Houston. The Brickwolves/Wolfpack Machina won FLL states twice, FTC States once and came in fourth at FTC Worlds in 2022. We would love to pass on our knowledge to current FLL teams.
